I managed to pop into Orlando over the weekend to try out the Food and Wine festival (my favorite time of the year at WDW!) and meet some friends. I left Epcot completely stuffed with great food – so many terrific cuisines to sample around the World Showcase. I think my favorite was probably the wings at the Odyssey building (the restaurant near the Mexico pavilion adjacent to the shallow pool as you come north into the Showcase area). The Odyssey building hosts a Muppets-themed wing restaurant; here’s a great view of the interior from YouTube – skip to 7 minutes 15 seconds in to see the wing area!
It looks like a number of others have also enjoyed the Food & Wine Festival – I see reviews from the Disney Food Blog, Allears, Disney Tourist Blog, and many others.
Last Friday I also managed to get in a late night show of the new Haunted Mansion movie. It’s an excellent movie – has a ton of callbacks to the original ride, including a reference to the elevator room! I felt it was very similar to the Hocus Pocus set of movies: fun, wholesome movies good for a family movie night.
