I spent much of the day today watching WDWNT prepare for Hurricane Ian at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Such a beautiful view!
Interesting thing they mentioned from the video: apparently all of the animals at Animal Kingdom Lodge are inside safe from the hurricane, but the wildebeests are still outside because – as they said in the stream – that they don’t like enclosed spaces.
Based on their Twitter feed, it looks like they had an excellent dinner, although perhaps they got a little wet:
Over at BlogMickey, they have a list of the hurricane rations Disney offers: https://blogmickey.com/2022/09/disney-world-hotels-roll-out-hurricane-meal-kit-menus/ . As expected, they’re all cold cut sandwiches and stuff that holds out for some time. IMO, the best is if you have your own suite/villa that has a kitchen – last time I stayed in a Beach Club villa and ordered in ingredients from Garden Grocer to make lunches for the whole week I was there. Being able to make a quick stir fry and enjoying home cooking while on vacation is very cozy.
